Warm honey and soft butter melting into the crevices of a hot biscuit...

Of course, who doesn't?
But sometimes we just can't get what we want... Or can we?

With my biscuit recipe-you CAN! They're super fast, because... well-I cheat! Yes, I admit I use BisQuick-but it's not really cheating, because I make my own homemade BisQuick! :)

Homemade Whole-Wheat BisQuick:
-3 cup whole wheat flour
-1 cup all-purpose flour
-1 TBSP. sugar
-1 tsp. salt
-1 1/2 TBSP. baking powder
-2/3 cup shortening

~Just mix all dry together and cut in shortening. Store in freezer. Stays good up to 3-4 months!

Now to make the biscuits-
Ingredients:
-2 cups Homemade BisQuick
-1/3 cup buttermilk
-1 TBSP. butter

1. Mix all together
will be VERY sticky!

now you can use an ice cream scoop for uneven biscuits...

like these above

Or roll them out for smooth biscuits such as these

Eiter way, you won't be sorry you just got exactly what you wanted in little to no time!

Chicken Pastries

Every once and a while I come across a meal I just fall in love with instantly... these Chicken Pastries would fall into that category. I recently was made this delightful little dish from a friend (who is now my best. friend.
So want to make some people call you their new best friend?! Of course-who doesn't want more friends!? To accomplish that you need to make them this recipe!

In a small bowl mix together:
-2 TBSP. low-fat cream cheese
-1 TBSP. butter (or margarine)
-1 TBSP. Greek yogurt
-1 TBSP. non-fat sour cream
-1 TBSP. milk
-minced garlic (to your liking, I used 1 TBSP)
-1/2 finely chopped onion
-dash of salt, pepper and Italian seasoning

...you can also get the oven pre-heating on 350* at this time

It will start looking like this!

Then add 2 cups cooked, cooled and chopped chicken (about 3-4 chicken breasts)

Then the magic starts to happen....
Take one small package of crescent rolls (one that makes 8 rolls) and pinch the edges of all 8 little triangles together to create one big sheet (you could also just buy the crescent roll in sheet form, or a sheet of puff pastry dough)
Roll out and cut into 6 equal sized squares

Place 1/6 of the chicken mixture to each square of dough and place onto a greased baking sheet.

Pinch up the sides of the pastries to create a little package (package full of deliciousness!), like so:

No you can leave them un-adulterated, or spray with a little cooking spray and sprinkle with:
-parmesan cheese
-bread crumbs
-Italian seasoning
-mixture of all three!

Then just place in oven and bake for about 25 minutes

Viola-an easy, 30-minute-meal that is sure to impress!

Cinnamon Rolls

Is there anything more comforting in this world than a warm carb-product. No. No there is not and if anyone would like to argue with me, well then... ok-I'd probably just ignore it because I am very un-confrontational
But nonetheless! Just look at this....
Mmmmm, right?

These amazing, soft, gooey and oh-so delicious cinnamon rolls are the absolute BEST cinnamon rolls I have ever had in my life. But, unfortunately I cannot claim them- my sister made these creations.

The best part? (ok, aside from the taste) is the fact that they are ubber easy to make- she makes them in a bread machine! Sweet huh?!

To get this recipe (and a bunch of other great recipes) go to her website here. She's awesome. And I know-she is my sister after all! :)

Cake Batter Butter

What is better than cake batter?! In my opinion.... umm NOTHING! I love trying to recreate the cake batter taste in just about everything! (recipes coming soon!) I love cake batter ice cream, cake batter shakes, cake batter oatmeal...everything! So I figured I would try my hand at created a version of a nut butter that tastes like cake batter... crazy I know!

After trying a few different variations, I came up with a recipe that any cake batter lover will appreciate! It's great to put on toast, bagels, apple slices, and crackers! (Just to name a few...)

Ingredients (makes about 1 cup of butter) :
-2 cups cashews (I used salted, but if you use unsalted you can always add a little pinch of salt)
-1 tsp. vanilla extract
-1 tsp. butter extract
-1/2 tsp. almond extract
-Sprinkles ...now some people here would put "optional" but NO-this is not optional in any way shape or form.... to get the legit cake batter experience you must add sprinkles to the end result-but then again, how will I ever know :)

Directions
1. Roast cashews on a baking sheet in a 350* oven until they become fragrant.
2. Let cashews cool
3. When they are just warm, put cashews in food processor or high powered blender and blend away! (the warmth from the cashews helps their oils come out a bit easier)
4. Keep scrapping sides of blender/processor until you reach the consistency you like
5. Pour into your jar of choice and fold in sprinkles!

Sooooo good with some crackers! Mmmm Mmm!
